Totters Independent Hostel in Caernarfon is a self-catering hostel located inside a 200 year old townhouse. The bedrooms can be arranged as either mixed or single sex dorms and sleep two, four or six people. A separate family room as well as a double ensuite attic room are also available. Linen is provided for all beds. Totters Independent Hostel has a common room with TV, videos and games as well as a book exchange and secure luggage facility. The hostel is open all year round and does not have a curfew. Wi-Fi is also provided. A Continental breakfast is also in the room price as well as tea and coffee being provided for free. There is also an on-site kitchen for those who would like to cook their own food. In the surrounding areas there are also many pubs and restaurants. Snowdonia National Park, Caernarfon Castle, Conway Castle, and Greenwood Forest Park are all nearby.

Trotters is only a twenty minute drive from Mount Snowdon where there are lots of nice walks and only a few minutes walk to the promenade along the sea. Caernarfon Castle is also really close by and is walking distance. There are also many pubs in the are
The building which houses the hostel is very beautiful and old with lots of character and a rustic charm. The rooms inside are also very clean and the bedding provided is also clean and tidy.
The owners who work at and run the hostel are both very friendly and helpful. They both have good knowledge of the surrounding areas and can offer lots of helpful suggestions about what to see and do nearby.
There is unfortunately no on-site parking and parking in the street or nearby is quite difficult. Guests traveling by car should be aware that finding a spot to park the car might be difficult.
There is bad data reception throughout the city which makes using the Internet and making phone calls difficult. The hostel also has poor quality Wi-Fi access with Wi-Fi only being available in the common room and in some, but not all, the bedrooms.
Although this may not be a problem for all guests Trotters has a unisex bathroom and mixed showers. The showers do not have shower doors only shower curtains which can affect privacy.
