Upgraded rooms offer other amenities including a microwave and whirlpool bath. The hotel features an indoor pool, and laundry facilities are available for guests' convenience. Free coffee is also offered in the lobby. There are several nearby restaurants available, making it fairly easy to save a few bucks by dining outside the theme park. Gala Thai, 161st Street Pizza, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, California Canteen and Joe's Falafel are all less than a mile from the hotel. Other options on Universal property include Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and The Hard Rock Cafe. The Tilt Hotel Universal Hollywood is just one mile from Universal Studios Hollywood. Other attractions including Warner Studios, Disney Studios and the iconic Hollywood sign are all less than ten minutes away.

The hotel is just one mile from the Universal Studios Hollywood resort, making it a very convenient option for park-goers. There are also plenty of dining options nearby both outside of the theme park as well as at Universal's Citywalk, and other notable attractions like Warner Studios and Disney Studios are not far away.
Most guests reported that the hotel is fairly clean, and issues with the upkeep of the rooms and property were few and far between. You should have few problems in this department.
The hotel was recently remodeled, and guests seem to like the fresh new look. The hotel's design and decor have a cinema and movie theme, and the style of the building and all of the furnishings are thoroughly modern both inside and out.
Some guests found that the staff were not exceptionally friendly or helpful. Numerous reviewers complained that the staff at the concierge desk were not very attentive and were frequently on their phone, or thought that the staff were rather rude. A couple of guests even had issues with items going missing from their rooms.
The hotel no longer offers a complimentary breakfast. While there are other options nearby including a Starbucks right across the street, some guests were disappointed that there were no breakfast items offered at the hotel.
The hotel's indoor pool is nicely maintained, but is very small. The pool is large enough for guests to relax and soak or splash around, but far too small to do much swimming or take a lap.
