Island Hotel Katarina (Rovinj, Croatia)

The hotel is situated on the island of Saint Katarina and boasts spectacular views of the Adriatic as well as the historical town of Rovinj. Guests appreciated the peace and tranquillity surrounding the hotel and also found it convenient being just a short boat ride away from the town with its numerous shops and historical monuments.

Many enjoyed spending time at the outdoor salt-water swimming pools which have been described as being clean and well-presented with plenty of comfortable sun-loungers. Guests found it convenient having a pool bar from which they could purchase refreshments and in the evenings the  terrace bar proved a popular spot with many looking to enjoy a few drinks whilst admiring the views.

Guests who dined at the hotel's restaurant said that the food was of a very high quality, made from fresh local produce. Many enjoyed the local flavours and said that the menus were extensive and catered for various tastes and preferences. The breakfasts were also said to be tasty featuring a vast array of hot and cold items.

The standard rooms do not have air-conditioning units and guests who stayed at the hotel during the summer months said that they often felt uncomfortably warm in their rooms.

Guests who wanted to make themselves a hot drink in their rooms were disappointed to find a lack of tea and coffee making facilities which meant that they had to go to the bar to buy drinks.

Many mentioned that the shower cubicles in the bathrooms were quite small and claustrophobic and that the fixtures and fittings would benefit from being updated. Some also reported plumbing issues such as slow drainage.
