Hotel Thistle Johor Bahru (Johor Bahru, Malaysia)

Thistle Johor Bahru Hotel has recently undergone a revamp and the new look is exceptional. Rooms are elegantly styled and decorated in a fresh new palette that is totally in line with most top tier international hotels. Suites are spacious and clean and offer great views of the Straits of Johor and the city.

Dining options at the hotel are excellent with a wide variety to suit all palettes. There are four dining options available in the hotel and all are exceptionally clean, modern and well-presented. An open kitchen concept where one can watch dishes being prepared is also quite an exciting feature and a fun way to wait for your meal to arrive.

Hotel staff are extremely professional and present excellent multilingual service, making sure that all guests are welcomed and can be assisted without any communication problems. The majority of the staff are quite young which helps to keep the energy of the new-look hotel where it should be.

The hotel does not provide a regular shuttle service for guests looking to visit the centre of Johor Bahru. Guests must organise their own transportation which can be quite inconvenient and also costly.

While the hotel does provide a good buffet breakfast it is important to note that this is not included in the room rate and is charged for as a separate item in the same way as lunch or evening dining is.

Being a central city hotel does come with some noise issues which are generally more noticeable at night. There are also some issues with room air conditioners that can be quite noisy when in full swing.
