Locations don’t get more spectacular than this; next to an impressive golf course and overlooking the dramatic North Sea.

Food is tip top, substantial and full of fresh North Yorkshire goodness. Breakfast is cooked to order, the evening dinner menu is equally tempting and everything is served by friendly, efficient staff. Well behaved pets are welcome in all areas and boy,

Rooms with no views.

The annexe rooms are in the car park and have no views as such, but they are quiet. Also, the area needs updating now and Wi-Fi is a dead loss here.

Not bright for early breakfast.

OK for early risers but, for many, this 9 am breakfast time isn’t very appetising.

Spectacular views; less than thrilling menus.

The food is OK but, actually, the quality can be better in Whitby catering establishments. Tables here are a bit small too and overall, it’s quite expensive for what it is. Still, you can’t put a price on those views!
