Hotel The Roundabout is a small hotel located in a lovely 19th century structure in East Fareham on Wallington Shore Road. The hotel is ideal for business visitors and leisure guests and is also known to host various special events. There are 16 guest bedrooms with en suite showers and baths and complimentary toiletries. TV with Freeview, hospitality trays and hair dryers are provided in each room. Single, twin, triple and family occupancy rooms are available. Wireless Internet access is available in rooms. Hotel The Roundabout has free parking and is a pet friendly establishment. Events can be hosted and catered to. The hotel has its own quirky restaurant with home cooked food and roaring open fires. Guests who enjoy quirky or old fashioned hotels over chain hotels enjoyed their stay at The Roundabout; a hotel dating back to the 19th century and one with a lot of character. Traditional furniture and furnishings in the rooms and easy access from the motorway were some of the plus points guests spoke of.
The Roundabout offers comfortable rooms with a convenient on site restaurant and pub. The hotel is also ideally located for Portsmouth, Porchester and The Solents. The amenities on offer compare well with the amount charged felt a lot of guests. Many guests thought that the hotel is good value for money.
Guests enjoyed the wholesome traditional fare and the fine ales served at the hotel. Many guests described the service as friendly, hospitable and welcoming.
Several problems such as leaking sinks, absent shower curtains, unclean linen and broken furniture and fittings were reported by guests. Problems such as poor water pressure in the shower and broken boilers were also reported by some guests.
While the old world charm worked for a lot of guests, many found that the hotel not having certain amenities and contemporary interiors was a problem. Guests felt that the bathrooms need work and the pipes, fittings and also the mattresses on the beds need replacing suggested some reviews.
Some guests had trouble finding parking. Guests also complained about the noise from the disco and the band.
