Less than five-minutes' walk from the beach and within easy reach of Douglas town centre, The Adelphi is handily located for exploring this modest capital's main attractions. Cheerful hosts and tasty breakfasts complement this three-star hotel's convenient location.
Guest rooms are simple yet comfortable with en-suite bathrooms coming as standard. 26-inch TV/DVDs, in-room safes, and tea/coffee making facilities are also included.
Wi-Fi can be accessed throughout and a public use computer is available in the residents' lounge. Free on-street parking is available in the evening and on weekends and there is a free car parking zone (24/7) 300 metres from the hotel.
Breakfast is served each day in the informal dining room. An assortment of cafés, restaurants and pubs lie within easy strolling distance.
Nobles Park, Central Promenade and the Gaeity Theatre are all less than five-minutes' walk away. The Calf of Man is 16 miles from The Adelphi.
Bubbling with energy and never without a smile, The Adelphi's ever-helpful hosts make most other hotel owners look positively comatose in comparison! Outstanding hospitality; nothing is ever too much trouble for this industrious, attentive and thoroughly
Location is just perfect.
With everything from the beach and theatre to the Tynwald and the Manx Museum lying within easy walking distance, this hotel is an ideal base for anyone who likes to do their sightseeing on foot.
Breakfasts are top-notch.
Cooked-to-order, well presented and served with a lovely big smile; the breakfasts here are just what you need to start the day in a positive frame of mind. The seemingly endless amounts of free tea and toast are most welcome too!
Some challenges for guests with mobility issues.
As well as being situated atop a rather steep hill, The Adelphi also has a number of daunting staircases located within its environs. Not ideal if you or any of your party have mobility issues.
Wi-Fi doesn't reach the attic rooms.
If being online is important to you then make sure you opt for a room on one of the lower floors: the hotel's Wi-Fi does not yet extend as far as the 'penthouse suites'.
Guest accommodations are modest.
Whilst The Adelphi's guest bedrooms are very clean and tidy (impressively so), it is fair to say they are pretty basic and – in some cases – quite small. 'Functional' is perhaps the best word to describe them.
