Hotel Royal Positano (Positano, Italy)

Thanks to its uphill location, the hotel boasts incredible panoramic views of the city and the sea. Though a bit of a climb, the hotel is also not far from the city centre and the beaches. Guests say it's possible to get there on foot, but you can also opt to take the public bus, which stops just outside the hotel entrance.

Though basic, the rooms are quite spacious, clean, and very well kept. Guests felt very comfortable during their stay here. If you're looking to enjoy a view from your room, it's recommended that you request one with a balcony.

The hotel boasts a great restaurant, with a strong gastronomic focus. Here, you can get a taste of many regional dishes and local Positano highlights. Each dish is cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Guests also really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.

As this is an older hotel, the rooms have begun to look a bit dated. Guests think the property could use a general makeover, but agree that it has been well kept so far. However, the carpets are definitely in need of replacement.

There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and most guests found this a bit unusual and inconvenient. However, you can always catch a connexion in the lobby or the public areas.

Many guests liked the pool but didn't like that you had to wear a swim cap to use it. Many were also surprised to find this out, as no restrictions about it were mentioned anywhere.
