Guests tend to be pleased with the quality of the apartments at Macdonald Leila Playa. A few thought they could be more aesthetically pleasing but, otherwise, they are consistently described as clean, comfortable and well equipped.
Good location near beach
Although a number of guests mention that there is some road noise here, the surroundings otherwise seem to be peaceful and relaxing. The highlight for many guests about the hotel is its proximity to the beach.
Well maintained property
Guests who own a timeshare and have been coming here for years mention that the property and its grounds are nicely maintained. Amenities in the apartments are generally found to be in good working order and if problems do arise, they seem to be addressed promptly.
Better suited to older clientele
More than one guest found this hotel was better suited to an older clientele or families with very young children. Older children and teenagers may feel a little uninspired by the lack of things to do in the immediate neighbourhood.
Restaurant could be improved
Previous guests have highlighted some issues with the restaurant, variously describing the food as disappointing and the atmosphere as severely lacking. It seems that the restaurant is run by a third-party provider.
Guests mention that certain amenities and facilities at the resort cost extra. You'll need to leave room in your budget to pay for electricity and Wi-Fi access (which also enables satellite TV channels) as well as activities such as the mini-golf and tennis courts.
