Ilfracombe House offers an excellent location just above the sea front and within easy walking distance of all the activities that Southend has to offer. Guests can choose from a single, double, twin or family room. Some rooms feature a four poster bed and all have a flat screen television, DVD player, mini fridge and are en suite. There are also apartments available for larger groups. Free Wi-Fi is available and there is a car park for up to ten cars. The range of different accommodation offers extra flexibility to guests. Ilfracombe House offers a substantial all-you-can-eat breakfast with hot and cold options. The hotel has its own bar and restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Situated just above the seafront, Southend is just five-minutes’ walk away. Cliffs Pavilion Theatre, Southend Pier and Adventure Island are all close by. Southend Airport is just five to ten-minutes away.

The individuality and uniqueness of the hotel has been mentioned by previous guests. It is a world away from the chain hotels and many guests return time and time again.
The hotel has large and spacious rooms which received positive comments. The rooms at the front of the hotel are very light.
There have been mixed reviews of the breakfast on offer. Some love the breakfast options whereas some guests said that it wasn’t very appetising.
Some guests found that at breakfast time the staff could be quite overbearing when they just wanted to be left alone to enjoy their food. This included loitering around tables and chatting to guests. It was felt that they needed to be a bit more subtle.
Guests mentioned that there were some maintenance issues, particularly in bathrooms, which needed addressing.
