Many guests call the location of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Kendall East Miami great. It is close to many eateries and shopping areas. Several businesses, drugstores, grocery stores, bars, liquor store, ice cream stores besides McDonald's, Red Lobster and Burger King are all within a three-minute walking distance of the hotel.
Guests love the suites finding the bedroom and living room in two separate parts very convenient. Beds are found comfortable by them as well and the suites spacious and well maintained.
The staff person on duty was found extremely helpful by most guests. Staff members are eager to make guests feel at home, attending to all their needs like providing extra blankets on a chilly night. Many of the guests have commented that the breakfast provided by the hotel is outstanding. Guests with mobility issues said that the management of the hotel went out of their way to accommodate their handicap problems.
Some of the guests had issues with the bathroom doors, which were positioned too close to the toilet, making it difficult to open and close them. The wall papers of the bathrooms appeared dirty as well. Some bathrooms had broken drains in the shower area.
The suites though clean appear dated and guests say that they have found the carpet to be stained and the mattress indentation indicates wear and age. Furniture in the rooms also appears worn out and some guests found the beds uncomfortable.
Many guests say that the pool in the hotel closes too early for their liking. The laundry facilities available are found very expensive by the guests. Some guests had issues with the detergent vending machine which got stuck when they used it.
