No matter which restaurant you choose at The Buccleuch, you'll find that the food is really tasty. The chef uses locally sourced produce and meats, the selection of malt whiskies is a real treat and there is a nice selection of dishes to be had at breakfast.
The staff at this hotel is happy to have you and it shows. Their friendly, warm service makes you feel at home and they are knowledgeable about the area and all it has to offer in the way of restaurants, local attractions and evening entertainment venues.
Because this hotel is located on the Moffat High Street, you are right in the centre of everything. It's a short walk to local shops, restaurants and walking paths that surround the town and most of the popular tourist destinations are within easy reach.
The Buccleuch has no lift. This could be problematic if you have low mobility, a lot of luggage or small children in tow.
Because the front of this hotel is located on a busy street, you can expect traffic noise at all hours of the day and night. To enjoy a quieter stay, be sure to ask for a room on the side or at the rear of the property when making your reservations.
The hotel restaurant and bar can get really busy, especially on weekends and during peak travel season which means you may have to wait for service and your food. But the good news is that once the food arrives, you'll find that it was worth the wait.
