Malaga Lodge offers eight stylish rooms in La Victoria, a popular district in Malaga and only a ten minute's walk to the centre of the city.
The newly renovated single or double rooms are beautifully decorated and feature shared bathrooms, a fan and Wi-Fi. Some rooms feature a balcony.
Malaga Lodge has a friendly staff with a tour desk that provides information and maps of Malaga, a shared lounge area with TV, a laundry service, and a shared kitchen where guests can prepare meals and socialize with other guests.
There are several supermarkets, great bars and restaurants nearby such as El Tapeo de Cervantes that serves typical Spanish tapas or Restaurante Casa Valverde en Malaga that serves typical Andalusian dishes.
The lodge is right in the shadow of the ancient Moorish fortress, el Alcazaba de Malaga.
The biggest accolade of the hotel is the management. Run by a Spanish couple, guests can not stop talking about the friendliness of the staff. They really want you to enjoy Malaga and their hotel. No matter what you need, just ask!
positive:
Out of the touristy area, in a quiet neighbourhood
At times, the more centrally located hotels are right where the action is, day and NIGHT! Spaniards like to go out until very late. At the Malaga Lodge, you will be within walking distance of all of the great nightlife in Malaga, but you'll be able to return to a hotel that is away from the noise where you'll be able to enjoy a good night's sleep.
positive:
Clean and comfortable
You'll notice that the hotel management has worked very hard to give guests a clean room and clean facilities. Previous guests have also been impressed with the decoration and the ambiance of the hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The beds may be a bit tough
Previous guests, although not many, have mentioned that the beds were a bit uncomfortable. If you find that you are uncomfortable, the friendly staff will do what they can to make you feel better.
negative:
Breakfast is hit or miss
Some guests have commented that they wished that the management provided a better breakfast, although other guests appreciated it. The hotel is located near several bakeries if you'd like to eat breakfast outside.
negative:
No air conditioning
If you feel that you might not be the type to take the Spanish heat, then you might not be too comfortable. While most guests have not been bothered by the heat, the hotel does offer a fan to keep overheated guests satisfied.
