Positive Reviews

Tasty meals and a great atmosphere.

Meals in the restaurant are noted for being good value and very tasty. A number of guests have praised the chef, and have enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in both the bar and the restaurant.

Location, location, location.

The hostel is in an ideal location for guests who are hoping to access the main tourist sites. A large number of attractions are walking distance away, and there are plenty of tours on offer that are located just down the road.

Excellent value for money.

The competitive rates offered are a major incentive for anyone travelling on a budget. The hostel has low prices in relation to its central location, and a number of guests have commented that the value for money overcomes the hostel’s other shortcomings.

Negative Reviews

Disruptive one-key policy.

Prepare for some disruptions if you’re sharing a dorm room. Regardless of the dorm size, only one key is available, meaning that the room has to remain unlocked during the night to allow other guests back in. A number of guests have flagged this as a security concern, so perhaps consider a private room if you want to remain behind lock and key.

Sub-standard cleaning.

Don’t expect a pristine stay, as the cleanliness of the rooms is often noted for being sub-standard. A number of reviews have lamented that there is little attention to detail when it comes to maintaining cleanliness standards.

Street and bar noise throughout the night.

The hostel’s central location is ideal for exploring; however it is surrounded by pubs and therefore attracts a lot of party goers. It is reported that a lot of noise drifts in from both the street and the downstairs bar, so pack some earplugs if you plan to turn in early.
