Positive Reviews

Well Located

Central, easy to find and at a budget price, with free use of tablets and Wi-Fi. The bedding and room were spotless. The ability to leave luggage (charged) is very useful.

Quality Staff

The staff were friendly and helpful, with a good quantity of information and brochures available at reception, and a free tour of Dublin available. The facilities that are available such as the pool table, table tennis and the cinema are a great advantage when travelling with young people. The shower had a decent hot water pressure.

Catering for the Hungry

The proximity of the Bald Barista café is a big advantage, particularly for those who find the free breakfast to be inadequate, breakfast was a simple hostel option but you could buy great coffee and sandwiches and pastries from the in-house coffee shop.

Negative Reviews

On the Cool Side

The only problem was that the heating was not working but when pointed out to the staff they provided a heater which was more than adequate. So freezing when taking a shower; bathroom was a tiny shower room, the heater was not working. The walls and ceiling were paper thin so one hears all the neighbours coughing, laughing, talking, and walking. Noisy people were coming in late banging the walls, laughing and shouting till 4 am. Traffic noise comes from the street too.

Needs Scrubbing Up

The room was absolutely filthy!!! I know it is cheap, but bleach doesn't cost much at all!!! The free breakfast was a joke, little choice and cheapest food you could find at Lidl or hard discount shops. The pillows were flat and dirty, same for the bed linen which was smelly.

Charm Shortage

Slightly terse service at reception at times with the staff's attitude not good. One female guest wasn't aware that her 4 bed dorm was mixed.
