Positive Reviews

The hotel is very well looked after

Anchor displays an exceptional level of cleanliness, both in the guestrooms and in the general area Also, you'll find the beds to be really comfortable The combination of these two things will lead to a nice, relaxing stay.

It's a great place to base yourself

The hotel is in brilliant location, in that it is next to the central bus station, from which you can get pretty much anyway, including to the airport Meanwhile, there are some great pubs with live Irish music within easy walking distance Getting to Dublin's main attractions is simple as well.

You'll be treated well

The friendly hotel staff are incredibly helpful and will happily give you advice on where to go and what to do to make the most of your time in the city.

Negative Reviews

Don't expect silence at night

Dublin is a vibrant city and, even though the guestrooms at Anchor are set back from street, there is still a fair amount of street noise Furthermore, if your room is located on a side of the hotel near a bar and restaurant, you might find the clientele to be very noisy until the early hours of the morning And if these don't affect you, then the sound from the train line might, or even the seagulls flying outside your window.

Under (not much) pressure

Not only are the showers small, but once you've got yourself in there, you'll find the water pressure to be pretty poor Sometimes the hot water runs out quite quickly as well.

Breakfast doesn't come for free

While the hotel serves a varied and very decent first meal of the day, it doesn't come especially cheap, so bear that in mind when budgeting for your stay.
