Positive Reviews

Criccieth convenience, base for travels.

You will find The Lion to be handily close to the Criccieth Castle, Beach and a few shops, the views are fantastic and it also serves as a very handy base for exploring the coast and the Snowdonia National Park, with clean and functional rooms.

Breakfast and ale.

Those who have stayed really enjoyed the tasty breakfast buffet, and the wide selection of ales in bar was also a pleasant surprise for some.

Excellent team service.

Guests have found the friendly staff to make for a pleasant stay, with the helpful suggestions of places to visit being well appreciated.

Negative Reviews

Old fashioned and dated.

Some people have found the apparently old-fashioned and dated decor to not be their cup of tea, and the property age also meant thin walls and occasionally some noise from other guests.

Mattresses not the best.

The mattresses at The Lion have not been particularly beloved, with a few guests finding them hard and uncomfortable.

Patchy Wi-Fi is patchy.

The Wi-Fi in rooms has been reported to be patchy, however this is to be expected since it is supposed to work only in the common areas of the hotel.
