About UCC

The UCC apartments are perfectly located for access to Cork’s University and to the attractions of the city and its environs.

Apartments have three, four or five bedrooms. They are en-suite and designed to feature all modern conveniences. Bed linen and towels, cable TV and desk, are among the included facilities. The kitchen area includes a microwave and cooking utensils.

Communal features at UCC include on-site security, self-serve laundry and free parking. There is a welcoming tea or coffee on arrival. Reception staff members advise on local places of interest. Swimming, sport and recreational facilities are at the nearby Mardyke Arena.

Catering options range from bed and breakfast to ‘full board’. If out "on-the-town", Curran’s and Annie’s Bar are among the many popular places for wining and dining.

Cork’s attractions are wide ranging and include Chuckies’ Playzone, Lavit Gallery and St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral.

Positive Reviews

So ... ‘this' is how students live!

The accommodation is excellent and comes at a budget price. The apartment is clean, spacious and knocks socks off many alternative options that are available in the commercial sector. The kitchen is spotless and includes virtually everything you need. The shower unit is small, but that's OK; no problem.

A 'corking' location.

It's easy to park up - free - and there's a great children's playground nearby. A short walk takes you to the buzzing city centre, shops, restaurants and bars. The main road location means easy access to buses, taxis and supermarkets - including the neighbouring Tesco's.

A better 'reception' than at some hotels!

The welcome you get here is very warm and genuine. If you are new to the city of Cork, members of staff will supply all the information you need on interesting and best value places to visit. The first people you meet are the reception people and they couldn't create a better first impression.

Negative Reviews

Pay as you stay

It must be geared to students reeling back in the early hours (*surely not!) but if you are doing the same routine, you may have to pay to get in. Seriously! The make a charge.

Security blips.

Security procedures obviously need some reappraisal when strangers, unannounced, enter your room. They need to sort this.

A low ‘degree' of cleaning.

In this university setting, everything is OK at first glance. Later, though, you'll probably note stains on doors and kitchen units. These indicate poor cleaning procedures, lots of high and low marks … but very few for cleanliness!
