About d'Angleterre

One of Copenhagen’s iconic luxury hotels, and listed as one of the world's top hotels, the D’Angleterre has been serving renowned visitors for more than 250 years.

Rooms and suites are decorated in an understated classical style, but still feature state of the art high-tech features, seamlessly blending modern amenities with the weight of 250 years of history.

Having completed a comprehensive renovation in 2013, the D’Angleterre Hotel offers guests every amenity possible, including a tranquil spa and pool area, where beauty and therapeutic treatments are available to rejuvenate and revive.

In a city becoming known for its excellent restaurants, the Marchal Restaurant still stands out as one of the finest, proudly living up to its Michelin star rating.

D’Angleterre is situated in the very heart of Copenhagen, close to the city’s best cultural and commercial institutions.

Positive Reviews

Friendliness of the staff

Guests comment that despite the weight of the hotel's 250 year history, and reputation for luxury, its staff members were refreshingly unstuffy. They are invariably described as friendly, with a genuine desire to help in any way they can.

Very high quality audio visual equipment

While perhaps a natural choice for one of Denmark's most prestigious hotels, guests were nonetheless impressed with the very high quality Bang and Olufson audio equipment in their rooms.

The best possible location

While this is to some extent expected of a city's top hotel, many guests still mention how convenient the central location is, close to the shopping on Strøgot, and just opposite the Royal Theatre. Guests also love that the city's best bars, ca

Negative Reviews

Standard rooms a bit on the small side

Most of the rooms at the hotel are larger suites, but guests in the few standard rooms comment that, while still very luxurious, they are quite small. Guests who greatly value space should consider booking one of the spectacular suites.

Small public spaces in the hotel

Negative reviews of D'Angleterre are few and far between. One minor, and seldom mentioned, point is that the public areas of the hotel are not grand”, but rather petite. Some clearly love this, but others were expecting things to be on a grand s

Construction project in the square outside

There have been comments made until at least late 2015 that there is ongoing construction in the square outside, and that this tends to spoil the atmosphere around the hotel just a little.
