Positive Reviews

Relaxing and pleasant setting.

The hotel is surrounded by picturesque Welsh countryside with the Snowdonia Mountain Range providing a very scenic backdrop. There is an air of peace and tranquility which many guests appreciated particularly those who came here to relax. There is also a very pleasant beer garden on the hotel’s lawn where many enjoyed a few pints of the local ales during the summer months.

Convenient location for sightseeing.

Many guests used the hotel as a base to explore some of the many tourist attractions in the vicinity such as the Bodnat Gardens and Conwy Castle. There are also lots of nature trails and walks nearby so if you enjoy spending time in the great outdoors then you will certainly appreciate this hotel’s location.

Quirky and full of character.

The interior of the hotel has retained many of the original period features such as a galleried Victorian staircase and open fire places. Guests complimented the unique style of the decor including the antique furniture and the elegant drapes on the dining room windows.

Negative Reviews

Restricted dinner hours.

Many guests objected to the fact that the evening meal is only served until 7:30 pm when the kitchen closes. Those who spent the day sight- seeing objected to having to rush back to the hotel in order to get there in time for their evening meal.

Too many four-legged guests.

The hotel is described as pet-friendly, yet quite a few guests objected to dogs being allowed to roam freely in the bar as well as the resident cats which can also be seen in the bar and the reception area.

Lack of things to do on-site.

Although the hotel has a bar, many guests said that it lacked atmosphere and there are no other facilities on-site where guests can spend their free time.
