Positive Reviews

Charming, Serene Locale

This is a peaceful, secluded County Mayo spot situated just an hour's drive from Connemara National Park and forty-five minutes from central Galway. An excellent value for the money, you'll find basic accommodations for a reasonable price here.

Plenty of Parking

You won't struggle to find a parking space here; there's plenty to go around.

Beautiful, Clean Rooms

Rooms are quiet and kept in pristine condition with lovely views, cosy beds and pleasant amenities. Check the cupboards for your tea kettles and possibly other supplies; this isn't always pointed out.

Negative Reviews

Eyebrow-Raising Hosts

Although some found them charming and friendly, most agree the host family needs a brush-up on customer service and manners. You may arrive on time to find your room is not prepared - nor will it be for several hours. The adults are frequently missing or otherwise unavailable, so confused teenagers will try to do what they can. The hosts will also attempt to convince you to return from exploring the area much earlier than most would find necessary.

Breakfast Blues

The daily breakfast is served quite early (usually starting at 7:30 or 8:00 am and ending soon after), so forget about sleeping in. It's also sparse on the selection - and the eggs are often hard, toast is served cold and milk seems watered down - overall, the items are well below expectations both in choice and quality.

Far from Everything

You'll definitely need a car on hand if staying here. There isn't much of interest to be found within walking distance.
