Located in a historic Oak Park building that was once home to several prominent writers, including poet Vincent Starrett and Ernest Hemingway, Hotel The Write Inn is a quaint and eclectic boutique hotel close to Chicago.

Charming and unique building.

The Write Inn used to be the home of several famous writers, including Ernest Hemingway. Guests have appreciated the quaintness and the unique aspects of the hotel that give it a lot of character and make it special.

Close to everything the area has to offer.

Not only is the hotel situated in Oak Park and near to a number of shops and restaurants, interesting sights like Frank Lloyd Wright buildings can be found in the area surrounding the hotel. Visitors have also appreciated that the local train system is within walking distance of the property. This system provides easy access for guests to explore the city of Chicago, while enabling them to avoid having to pay hefty parking fees at the same time. .

Negative Reviews

Hotel said to be a little under the weather.

Several guests have mentioned that although the hotel is unique, the rooms could definitely use some updating and they seem to be outdated. Complaints about leaky fixtures and the quality of in-room amenities such as TVs and air conditioners also have been made. .

Weak Wi-Fi.

There have been a few negative comments about the stability of Wi-Fi offered. Outside the lobby, guests have said Wi-Fi is of especially poor quality.

Poor climate control.

Several guests have complained that rooms were either too hot or too cold and they had no control over the situation as the accommodations were climate controlled by staff members. People should be forewarned that depending on the season, air conditioning or heat may or may not be turned on, even if weather is acting unseasonably.
