Positive Reviews

Unique riverside bar.

The bar overlooking the river, is the River Taffs only licensed premise and is popular with both locals and guests. Many guests commented that the bar was the highlight of their stay and a hub of activity for the hotel/hostel. It often runs open mic nights and screens all major sporting matches on their big screen.

No curfew and great value for money.

Many guests who stopped at this hotel and hostel were particularly impressed that it did not impose a curfew. Its central location 5-minutes walking distance to Cardiff’s major bars and nightclubs means that is a popular choice for stag and hen nights and many guests commented on its value for money.

Great staff and location.

Guests staying at the hotel/hostel consistently reported their appreciation of the friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. Staff are on hand 24/7 to quickly resolve any issues or to help guests to navigate around Cardiff.

Negative Reviews

Tricky Ventilation.

Some guests mentioned that the ventilation throughout the hotel/hostel was particularly bad. Given the proximity of some dorms rooms to the bank of communal showers, the lack of ventilation becomes particularly exacerbated during times of high traffic.

Dark, cramped rooms.

Guest reviewers who is stayed in the dorm-style accommodation commented that they felt that it was particularly cramped in the rooms where there were between six and 10 beds.

Bit of TLC.

Visitors to the hotel/hostel commented that some of the décor in the rooms is looking a little tired old and could do with a little TLC. Beds in the dorm rooms, whilst clean, seemed to take the brunt of the traffic through the hotel/hostel.
