Positive Reviews

Can’t beat the location

This hostel is ideally located for exploring Cairo, guests say. The Egyptian Museum is directly opposite, Tahrir Square is just a short stroll away and public transportation is readily available. With numerous restaurants and shops nearby, guests say the location is hard to beat.

Helpful and knowledgable staff

Guests are full of praise for the hostel staff and cite numerous examples of exceptional service. Assistance with tours and excursions, along with the staff's general knowledge of Cairo, was particularly appreciated.

Comfort at an affordable price

Clean and comfortable en-suite rooms, private balconies and many of the amenities found at pricier hotels fit the bill for budget minded guests. Some reviewers are repeat visitors who recommend the hostel as an excellent and affordable option for visiting Cairo.

Negative Reviews

Maintenance could be better

Various maintenance related problems are noted. Guest complaints include malfunctioning air-conditioning units, blocked drains and leaking shower fixtures. The hostel’s lift, which guests describe as ancient and erratic, is also a source of frustration.

Breakfast blahs

The continental breakfast delivered to guest rooms leaves many reviewers less than impressed. They describe the offerings as mediocre and very basic. Venturing out to nearby cafes might be a better option, guests say.

Noise can be a problem

The hostel is close to a busy thoroughfare and guests with rooms facing the street say traffic noise, especially late at night, can make sleep difficult. Some recommend ear plugs.
