Positive Reviews

Peaceful and natural surroundings.

The hotel is hidden away in the trees, but just a short easy walk from the village of Burley. Many reviews mentioned that they enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and how quiet and peaceful everything was. You can see wild animals running through the grounds at night and despite being remote it is still easy to get to other places.

Really good for weddings.

The hotel conducts wedding ceremonies and can make your day special. The decorations are perfect, the garden is lovely and it is in such a beautiful setting with wedding guests impressed with the food served, the speedy service and the attentiveness of staff throughout their stay.

Well equipped for dogs.

As a dog friendly hotel you are able to bring along your four legged friends who are always so well treated. There is plenty of room in the grounds for dogs to run around and towels will be provided should your dog get a bit too dirty.

Negative Reviews

Beware of weddings.

Although wedding guests and happy couples enjoy their day, other hotel guests are often disturbed by noise from the wedding reception. The hotel can get very busy due to the popularity of the venue.

A comedy of errors.

Mistakes are made by some members of staff and sometimes the service in the restaurant is terrible. There seems to be a high turnover of staff which has led to some very inexperienced workers.

Shabby but not chic interior.

It has been suggested in some reviews that the hotel could do with a refurbishment. The carpets need a good clean or replacement, fixtures and fittings are dated and some areas are in need of a lick of paint.
