About Danubius Hotel Gellért

The 4-star Danubius Gellért is better known for the Art-Nouveau building it shares with the Gellért Spa complex — an architectural treasure with swimming, thermal and wave pools, which guests can access once for free. The hotel is on the Danube riverbank and 10 minutes’ walk from downtown shopping and the Great Market Hall.

All 221 rooms and 13 suites come with a minimum standard of en-suite bathroom with bath or shower, cable TV with in-house movies, minibar, free Wi-Fi and room service.

Danubius Gellért’s seven function rooms have a seating capability of up to 250 people, and the Gellért Bath Hall, 300. Guests can use a business centre, souvenir shop, and car parking, while laundry/dry-cleaning, transfer and babysitting services are available.

Panorama Restaurant serves Hungarian cuisine, and the hotel has a lobby bar, brasserie and a cafe.

The M4 Metro station is right outside, for easy city access. This accommodation is also known as Danubius, Danubius Gellert, Danubius Gellert Hotel, and Danubius Hotel.

Positive Reviews

Grand Hotel Budapest.

The tradition is palpable at Danubius Gellért, where the splendid communal areas, a sense of history and Danube views create a great atmosphere and the rooms are comfortable, clean and functional.

Spa outstanding attraction.

Gellért Baths, in the same fantastic Art-Nouveau building, was loved by guests, who enjoyed relaxing in the thermal baths and pools while checking out the architecture.

Where else could you have all this?.

Ignoring the baths, you will find the M4 metro line, buses and trams right outside, you are located at bottom of Citadel-crested Gellert Hill and you just happen to be on the banks of the Danube River. Location, location, location.

Negative Reviews

Some parts of hotel faded… or vintage?.

Some guests have argued that the rooms and hallways are faded and need a coat of paint, replaced carpets and so on. This appears to be very much a question of taste - as other guests raised the argument that if you want modern and bland, you should look e

Noise from trams.

An obvious drawback of good tram connections is that they are liable to make a decent amount of noise, so if this is an issue for you, ask for another room or bring earplugs.

Beds not for everyone.

If you are very picky about your bed, take care as a small handful of guests have found the beds here to be unfortunately uncomfortable.
