Positive Reviews

Yummy food and a warm welcome

Diners praised the plentiful and tasty full English breakfasts, and those who tried the meals served in the lounge-bar enjoyed the food. The friendly, welcoming and obliging members of staff also won praise from guests.

Popular central location

Reviewers were delighted to be so near to the seafront for beaches, attractions and the famous Blackpool Tower. Furthermore, this property’s town centre position put travellers just steps from bus stops and a short walk from the nearest tram stop for services up and down the promenade. It also appealed that there were also lots of dining, nightlife and entertainment options located in the vicinity. Guests reported that they could easily walk to town centre shopping areas and the nearest railway station too.

No nonsense rooms did the job

The simple rooms weren’t the height of luxury but reportedly did the job for a no nonsense seaside break on a budget. Many reviewers found their rooms to be more than sufficiently clean, tidy and comfortable considering the room rates were normally competitive.

Negative Reviews

Minor maintenance and cleanliness concerns

Critical reviewers sometimes said their rooms were a bit shabby because of dated décor, tired-looking items of furniture and sunken mattresses plus small and old television sets. It was occasionally claimed several of the bathrooms would have been enhanced by modernisation. Cleanliness issues reported included stained bedding, rubbish left behind by previous occupants and inadequately cleaned carpets.

Irritating noises and smells

In some rooms facing the main road, light sleepers said traffic noise occasionally became a nuisance. There were also reports of lingering smoky smells in some rooms.

Rooms had some drawbacks

According to several critics, certain rooms and beds were rather small. Others noted that there weren’t enough plug sockets to charge up all of their devices.
