Positive Reviews

Very welcoming staff.

The owners of the hotel are very friendly and personable – they make sure to greet guests and make them feel welcome at arrival and beyond. The property is family run, so they put effort into making sure your stay is pleasant.

Beautiful sea views.

The location of the hotel on the promenade is great – you can walk around and enjoy shopping or dining and since it’s near the water there are fantastic views all around. Within the hotel, you can enjoy views from your room or sit in the café and have great views as well.

Tasty breakfast.

Fresh breakfast is served up daily in the dining room. A good variety of options are there for anyone – fresh fruit, cereal, and yoghurt – but they also cook up a hot English breakfast full of the traditional favourites. Breakfast is served early to accommodate all guests.

Negative Reviews

Slightly dated.

The overall look and feel of the hotel is a bit on the dated side. The recreational lounge is also outdated compared with nearby properties.

No elevator lift.

Some of the rooms are located on different levels of the hotel – the stairs could be steep for some, and there is no elevator lift for guests. If you have issues with climbing stairs, you will need to request a floor-level room.

Not centrally located.

Though there are things to do in the promenade, the hotel location is a bit out of the city centre – if you are looking for a destination with more nightlife and buzz, this coastal spot might not be the best for you.
