Positive Reviews

An excellent breakfast just the start.

It’s the most important meal of the day and it doesn’t get much better than what’s on offer at this guest house. The rest of the meals on offer are equally tasty, so you’ll hardly need to eat anywhere else during your stay.

Lovely friendly staff.

The staff at the pub are great in that they are not too pushy but are still willing to help if you need them. They are extremely friendly and enjoy chatting with the customers whether they are local or out of towners.

Ideal location for the city.

If you’re visiting the city for a concert, football, or even just on business, then you can’t go wrong by staying here. The city centre is just minutes away, and there are plenty of public transport options within easy walking distance.

Negative Reviews

Too noisy for sleep.

They are rooms over a pub, so you’re taking a gamble with your beauty sleep when booking here. If you’re out for a night yourself, then it’s not really a problem but if you fancy an early night on the weekend then you might be disappointed.

Wi-Fi is hit and miss.

If you rely on the internet for work, then you should be aware that the connection in the rooms is not that good. It can be difficult to connect at all at times, and although it’s not a major drawback, it’s one you should consider.

Deposit for keys and remote.

The deposit you must pay for the keys and TV remote is a bit much considering that you must wait for the pub to open before getting it back. This means that you have to hang around for at least thirty minutes for the pub to open.
