About Les Allées Paul Riquet

Les Allées Paul Riquet is Béziers major walkway leading from the theatre to the park, Le Plateau des Poètes. It is a large pedestrian strip which lengthwise is 0,65 miles long, with a road that goes around it, and shops and cafes on the side. Amongst other activities that take place here, the flower market every Friday, antique fairs, workshops around Béziers feria, and several times a year, it is covered with kids fair attractions.

These "allées" were created in the 19th century, beforehand, they were the fortified towns ramparts.
