Positive Reviews

Upbeat about rooms and views

Guests liked the clean, tidy, characterful and comfortable rooms, praising them for their powerful showers and cosy beds. Many admired the mountain and valley scenery visible from various rooms.

Catering and customer service won praise

The hosts at this family-run property were often described as friendly and hospitable. Diners said they liked the hearty and freshly-prepared breakfasts as well as the reasonably-priced home-cooked evening meals. The lively bar was also popular, offering a good selection of ales.

Superb valley location in national park

This property's location in Snowdonia National Park's tranquil Lledr Valley in north Wales appealed to outdoors enthusiasts as it put them within easy reach of climbing, walking and mountain biking terrain. Not only was it at the foot of Moel Siabod, but also within easy reach of other peaks like Mount Snowdon, Glyder Fawr and rugged Tryfan. Holidaymakers appreciated being within striking distance of area attractions, beaches, Llandudno, Bangor and Holyhead for ferries to Ireland. Motorists welcomed the direct access to the A470 and the free parking. Non-motorists welcomed the proximity of bus stops, shops and a railway station.

Negative Reviews

Minor maintenance and cleanliness grumbles

Inconsistent housekeeping standards, beds that weren't made properly or bathrooms that could have been more thoroughly cleaned were among the minor cleanliness issues occasionally reported by critics in some rooms. There were also occasional cosmetic maintenance grumbles over tired-looking carpets or old-fashioned decor.

Too remote for some

The valley location meant some visitors, in particular non-motorists, found it tricky to access amenities and dining options at times.

Reports of patchy Wi-Fi and weak TV signal

Patchy Wi-Fi coverage and sluggish speeds were reported in some areas of the building at times. Weak TV reception was also encountered by some guests due to the valley location.
