Positive Reviews

Quite quiet, with comfortable rooms

The room is attractively furnished and welcoming. The bed is comfortable and everywhere appears to be scrupulously clean. Any city centre location has a degree of noise but, possibly thanks to the double glazing, guests report it is minimal here. Older buildings tend to come with their own soundproofing, so there is no noise coming from neighbouring rooms.

City centre advantages

Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is a remarkably impressive start to the day. There's plenty of choices too. Later, from this city centre setting, Guests say it's an easy walk to many restaurants, shops and places of interest. Great!

Imagine! ... free parking in Bath

There is a park and drive scheme, so you can park for free at, say, Lansdown or Odd Down. From there, the bus shuttle to this city centre area is also free. With a bit of imagination, guests have been able to park for free, even in Bath.

Negative Reviews

Strangely, there’s no … bath

Most rooms are en-suite but all have a private bathroom. This contains a shower ... but no bath. It just seems strange - in this particular city.

An uphill struggle

These places were built to accommodate people who were generally smaller and thinner than today's generation. There is no lift and no ground floor rooms – so guests have struggled to climb maybe several flights of narrow, steep stairs … with luggage.

Hot on pricing

There is a hot water problem which must be thermostat or water pressure related. Shower water is either icy cold or blazing hot. There’s nothing in between. Members of staff are found to be very nice but often absent. Generally, the impression from guests is that this B&B is maybe a bit more expensive than it should be.
