About Glenade

Glenade is a family-run guest house on the South side of the City of Bath. It is within easy reach of the City Centre and well-served by public transport; with train and bus stations less than a mile away.

There are just three guest rooms; one twin and two doubles and, while each has its own 32” TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities, the rooms share a bathroom.

Off-street parking is available, Wi-Fi and, for those arriving by train, the owners are more than happy to collect guests from the station on their day of arrival.

A buffet-style continental breakfast is served daily and there are dozens of eateries close by; The Bear, a contemporary gastro-pub and Menu Gordon Jones, offering fine-dining tasting menus, are both highly rated.

Bath City Centre is a fifteen-minute walk away and the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey are within two-miles from Glenade.

Positive Reviews

Tremendous hosts.

The welcoming, friendly hosts go out of their way to provide advice, and ensure you have a comfortable stay. Lifts to, and from, the City Centre, providing take-away breakfasts or maps, storing luggage; nothing is too much trouble.

Quiet location close to Bath.

Glenade is small yet perfectly formed; with a beautiful veranda and well-maintained garden, situated in a quiet, residential area of Bath with several excellent restaurants nearby. It is also within easy reach of the City Centre.

Clean and well-kept.

Most guests have stated how exceptionally clean the guest house is. Rooms are large yet cosy, the hospitality trays are well-stocked and the premises are, quite clearly, well-looked after.

Negative Reviews

Shared bathroom facilities.

The bathroom facilities at Glenade are shared and, while this may be an issue for some, most guests find no problem with it in practice. There are only three guest rooms and the facilities are, in fact, split between two rooms; one with a sink, bath and s

No cooked breakfast.

The breakfast supplied at Glenade is varied, with everything from croissants, cold meats and fresh fruit to cereals, toast and cheeses supplied. There is, however, one option missing; cooked breakfast. For most, however, the selection offered more than ma

Uphill walk back from the City.

The walk to Bath from the guest house is an easy fifteen-minute stroll but, while downhill on the way, the walk back has proved an uphill struggle for some. There are, of course, alternatives; a taxi or a local bus (with a stop close to Glenade) are optio
