Positive Reviews

Family friendly accommodation.

Guests have been extremely impressed by the way the hotel caters for children, from the hotel run kids club to small touches like ice creams being available for them. Rooms are on the large side with family rooms available for those needing extra space.

Relaxing spa.

The spa is well laid out and decorated to a high standard. It is so relaxing that you might not want to leave! There are spa packages available which comprise multiple treatments and are very good value.

Tasty meals.

There is a choice of where to eat in the hotel but compliments have been given to the carvery, the restaurant meals and even the quality of bread available. Produce is very high quality and the food delivered is very tasty.

Negative Reviews

Busy hotel.

There have been reviews that have commented on the hotel being quite busy. This includes people struggling to get a reservation last minute and also the hotel being busy if events such as weddings are being held. Although this has led to longer than usual waits in the restaurant it has not impacted on the quality of food served.

Hotel decor needs attention.

In some of the public areas the hotel is starting to look a little dated, for example old fashioned furniture, scuff marks on the walls and floor. There have also been reports that the air conditioning does not work properly meaning it can get warm in the rooms and public areas.

Staff need to improve their service levels.

Although there have been lots of compliments on how friendly the staff are there have been reviews which have been disappointed with the level of customer service experienced, especially in the restaurants. This involves long waits to get a menu or place an order, mistakes made with the items ordered and no check backs made during the meal.
