Among palm-filled gardens with a large free-form swimming pool, in the peaceful Ayia Napa harbour area, is the Faros hotel.

All rooms are air-conditioned and have either a balcony or terrace, Satellite TV, safe deposit box, mini fridge and, while some boast sea views, many others look across the pool and gardens.

The health and fitness facilities at Faros include a gym, steam room, sauna and tennis courts and there is also a video games room and outdoor children's playground.

The Galini Restaurant serves a mixture of a la carte meals and buffet-style dining for the regular theme nights, the Amphitrion Cocktail Bar offers a variety of long drinks and cocktails. There are also wet-pool and lobby bars.

The hotel is situated 200-metres from the beach, and the lively square of Ayia Napa is a five-minute stroll away.

Balance between peace and nightlife.

Beautiful grounds.

Guests speak very highly of the grounds of the hotel; the swimming pool is large and well-kept and made more interesting with bridges and waterfalls in places. Some have suggested, however, that the pool is a little cool early-on in the season.

Clean and well-maintained.

The hotel has been subject to a recent refurbishment programme and many have commented on how clean and well-looked after Faros is. The newly refurbished suites, in particular, come highly recommended.

Negative Reviews

Additional extras.

Guests have commented that some items commonly found free-of-charge in most hotels are either not available, or are subject to an additional charge. For example, there are no tea and coffee making facilities or bottled water provided in the rooms.

Obstructed views.

Some guests have been surprised to find that the sea view rooms they paid a supplement for have been not quite as expected. While the sea can be seen, some rooms may find that these views are partially restricted by buildings.

Unreliable internet.

The internet in guest rooms has been found to be unreliable. There is the option, however, of using the Wi-Fi in the lobby, and this offers, by all accounts, a more consistent service.
