Positive Reviews

Great rooftop area

A great many guests loved the fact that this hostel has a spa, sauna and sun deck up on the rooftop. The views available of the harbour and city are an added bonus too.

Hostel has a very active social scene

As well as being a lively place in general, numerous visitors appreciated that there are loads of free social activities, such as walking tours, pub crawls and barbeque events laid on throughout the week by staff.

Central location couldn't be better

It's easy to see why the vast majority of travellers who've stayed here have singled out the hostel's location as its main selling point: almost everything in Auckland city centre is within a very easy walk of the property! Having plentiful restaurants and bars so close by is pretty cool as well!

Negative Reviews

Free Wi-Fi isn't the best

Many visitors have complained about the free Wi-Fi provided here. The main gripe is that, if you want a gratis signal then you have to go all the way down to the downstairs travel shop and even then you're only entitled to an hour of complimentary surfing time.

Interiors need updating

Creaky beds, old carpets, broken furniture, unkempt bathrooms: it's fair to say that very few guests have been impressed by the dated rooms and public areas within the property.

Can be noisy at night

Many travellers didn't much like that there are a number of bars/clubs located right next door to the hostel. Evidently, noisy party people and banging bass lines are part and parcel of the local street soundtrack here.
