Positive Reviews

In a Good Location

The location is good for most guests: Vivaldi is very much a hotel chosen for price, and little else. It is handy to get where you are going. One visitor 'only got the tram twice, to and from the airport ' For those who are happy to walk it is great, the walk to anywhere in Amsterdam is simply beautiful.

Quiet and Fair Enough

Based on the low budget the accommodation was adequate: 'fair enough'. It is in the city, not very close to the centre but quiet. One guest comments: 'The bed was comfy, very handy for the Heineken brewery as it's practically next door!'.

Staff are OK

The staff are helpful, and there are lots of cheap pubs and restaurants around to choose from. The tram stop next to the building is conveniently close. The free Wi-Fi is 'just OK '.

Negative Reviews

Grumpy, not Doc!

It is 'not worth the money, with a very small room, very thin walls, and an uncomfortable bed' says one visitor. Another from the UK found it 'absolutely shocking', and the staff were not too nice. A seasoned visitor to Amsterdam found that it needs renovation, and had: 'never witnessed anything like it. The receptionist was grumpy as hell '.

Woeful Infrastructure

There are broken light switches, and wall sockets falling out of the wall exposing wires next to the bed. The rooms are small, old and the building not renovated. No shower door so you just end up flooding the bathroom. Nowhere safe to store bags if you are in the lobby.

Needs a Clean- Up

The cleanliness of the place isn't the best. A smelly ill lit bathroom, and a stained mattress in the breakfast diner. Walls and the carpet were dirty, with graffiti and out of service vending machines.
