Positive Reviews

Quiet yet central location.

The hotel is located in a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist spots, whilst also being close enough to walk or easily take public transport to the main sites and attractions. The popular Leidseplein for example is a 25-minute walk away. Within a 20-minute tram ride you can reach Vondelpark, the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum.

Exceptional customer service.

Most guests reported having a great customer service experience. The staff have been described not just as friendly, but genuinely caring and helpful. You can expect to receive a warm welcome on arrival, and staff have been said to go out of their way and bend over backwards to ensure that guests have a comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable stay. Tourist advice and recommendations are also readily given.

Clean and comfortable rooms.

The rooms were found to be clean and well presented. Guests reported sleeping comfortably and soundly. All amenities were provided including free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee facilities.

Negative Reviews

Small sized rooms.

The hotels’ rooms fall under the categories of ‘small’, ‘medium’ and ‘large’ or ‘family’ with the smallest being 11 m2. Some guests stated that the size of their room, as well as the bathroom were were small and felt cramped.

Dark and depressing decor.

While a lot of thought has been put into the design and decor of the hotel, not all guests enjoyed it. The interior of the hotel, including the bar and guest rooms, are heavily decorated in dark colours. Combined with poor lighting in the rooms, guests described the the decor as dark and oppressive.

Worn furnishings.

Some guests commented that the furnishings appear to be old and worn.
