Positive Reviews

Splendid Location

Just picture a vintage building placed in the centre of innumerable attractions within walking distance to a host of superb restaurants The words “splendid location” is putting it mildly.

Pleasantness Goes A Long Way

The staff and reception make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble This is a family run business that gloat on giving attention to detail while bestowing good manners and a welcoming attitude.

A Decent Breakfast Makes Your Day

The breakfast is great, complemented by a friendly, relaxed atmosphere Freshly cooked and served promptly with coffee and juice, it’s delicious and cooked personally by the lodge’s owner Breakfast can be served in your room or you can saunter downstairs and join the other lodgers.

Negative Reviews

Wishy-Washy Water

Maybe it’s the age of the building or due to neglect, but you may find yourself without hot or cold water during the middle of your shower without notice Cold and hot water is inadequate at times and may stop altogether The water pressure may suddenly stop pressuring you spontaneously, which is no fun when you’re in the middle of a soothing shower.

An Upgrade Is Due

After you’ve finished goggling at the beauty of such a historic building, at closer inspection it appears that an upgrade is due Though not purposely neglected, creaky beds, old and unused furniture lying about, and somewhat shabby décor is not too appealing Luckily in their favour, the location makes up for it.

Let There Be Light

Due to the accommodation’s décor, the rooms are a bit dim Lights may or may not work, and if you happen to get a room with a dark hued ceiling, you’ll need the lights on all night! Nonetheless, rooms are clean to a decent standard making it somewhat easier to overlook the grungy décor.
